What is a moonstone bracelet worn for?
A moonstone bracelet is traditionally worn for intuition, new beginnings and moving with the moon's cycles. It is linked with the crown and sacral chakras and with Cancer, Libra and Scorpio. Moonstone is a classic gift for a new chapter such as a wedding, a move or a birthday, and its soft sheen pairs especially well with rose quartz, as in The Devotion. Handle it gently, as feldspar can chip.
What is moonstone?
Moonstone is a feldspar. Its glow, called adularescence, comes from light scattering between microscopic layers inside the stone. It measures 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale and is commonly found in India, Sri Lanka and Madagascar. Every Crystal Basket bead is natural and undyed, so colour and pattern vary from bead to bead.
Which wrist do you wear moonstone on?
Wear moonstone on the left wrist. Intuitive stones are traditionally worn on the receiving side, the wrist many traditions also call the side of the heart.
How do you cleanse a moonstone bracelet?
Cleanse moonstone when it arrives and about once a month: overnight in moonlight, on a selenite plate for a few hours, or in palo santo, sage or oud smoke. A brief rinse in plain water is fine; dry it straight away so the cord lasts. It is sun safe, so a short spell on a bright windowsill does no harm. Full cleanse and care guide.
What does moonstone pair well with?
Moonstone is often worn beside rose quartz, labradorite and amethyst. Every bracelet is 8 mm, so any of them stack evenly on the same wrist.
